With the Winter Olympics now behind us we figured it would be the pawfect time to dive into an alternate contest taking place. The Winter Awwlympics, a chance for the world's most pawdorable pets to go up against each other to compete for the crown of cuteness.

Now that is something that would hold our attention much better than the historical sporting event that recently happened. And while there are several kinds of pet shows, their stuffiness and serious approach really take all the fun out of enjoying the cuteness of our fluffy friends. Which is why the Winter Awwlympics would be the purrfect answer. A competition based solely around cuteness with categories designed to highlight each animal's cutest features.

For example you could have a cutest look category, a cutest walk, cutest catch of the ball, and of course the fan favorite cutest costume contest. And those are just the generic categories, when you start adding species specific categories it turns into a whole different ball game. Overall, it would be a wonderful opportunity for the animals of the world to join together and show off just how endearing and awwdorable they can be.

You might not have thought that cats would want to take part in the Winter Awwlympics on account of their well known dislike of the wet and the cold, but this fine black feline is bucking trends. Much like the Jamaican bobsled team who came out of nowhere to surprise and surpass everyone to take the title, so too shall this cute cat have a good shot of taking home the gold. With his fine fur, purrfect posture and calm cat composure he has to be a shoe in for the top prize. The only thing that could pawtentially stand in his way is one of the veteran canine contestants competing this year.

This year the Winter Awwlympics has decided to branch out and include a costume contest for which this pupper is totally ready. They considered adding actual sporting events but when they looked up to see how much it would cost to insure a doggo skiing contest they decided it would be more economically viable to go for the costume contest instead. And while this doggo might have been vying for his chance to ski on the world stage, he will have to make do with parading his pawdorable self in the costume contest instead. At least he will likely look the part much more so than the other contestants.
